Built by a small team obsessed with getting test data right
We make the fastest, most realistic fake name, address, and ID generator on the web — free, instant, and entirely browser-based. Here’s who’s behind it and why it exists.
Why we built this in the first place
Every one of us has spent hours typing “John Doe” and “123 Main Street” into test forms — once for every build, every demo, every bug report. It’s tedious, and it doesn’t even produce data that behaves like a real name or address would.
So we built a tool that generates a complete, correctly-formatted sample identity — name, address, date of birth, and a placeholder ID number — in one click, with nothing to sign up for and nothing sent to a server.
A generator, not a database
Fakegenerator.site doesn’t pull from real records anywhere. Every name, address, and ID number is assembled on the spot inside your browser from region-matched word lists, so results are instant and nothing you generate is stored by us.
The three things we won’t compromise on
Instant, always
No loading spinners, no accounts, no rate limits — a full record generates the moment you click.
Private by default
Everything runs client-side. We never see, log, or store what you generate.
Genuinely realistic
Region-matched names and correctly formatted addresses, not random word soup.
A small, professional team keeps this running
Fakegenerator.site is maintained by a compact, hands-on team of developers, a data researcher, and a designer — the same people who answer support requests and ship updates, with no layer in between.

Fakegenerator.site in numbers
A short history of the project
A single-field prototype
Started as a simple name generator built to speed up one team’s own QA work.
Address & DOB added
Expanded to full sample records after requests from testers who needed more than just a name.
Regional support
Rebuilt the datasets so names, places, and formats match by region instead of using one generic list.
Used daily by testers & designers
Runs entirely in-browser, with new regions and fields still being added.
What “good” test data means to us
“If it wouldn’t survive contact with a real form — a weird accented character, an unusual address format, an edge-case birth year — we don’t consider it good test data.”
— The Fakegenerator.site teamWhat this tool is built for — and what it isn’t
We build this for developers, testers, designers, writers, and students who need placeholder data. It’s not intended for impersonation, fraud, or filling out real legal or financial forms — every field is a fictional placeholder, not a usable credential.
